Chuck Martens (b.1997) is a Minneapolis based artist who photographs natural scenery and man-made structures that strike him as he wanders through cities, parks and gardens. Inspired by classic paintings, he creates photographs that are simultaneously familiar and imagined. Each image goes through an iterative process as he makes and undoes digital adjustments until the image renders the same beauty and intrigue he encountered on his walk.
The relationship between the camera and food is one of the most beautiful and romantic partnerships I’ve known, one that enchanted and inspired me from a young age. Every opportunity to photograph food, chefs and restaurants feels like one of my oldest dreams coming to life.
I offer creative, editorial-style photography for restaurants and hospitality brands. My work highlights the colors, textures and presentation of each dish and drink while also celebrating the talent, energy and hard work of the team.
